backstory
Main verse: Hui-Ying comes from a Chinese family. Her grandparents moved to the States with their son, Hui-Ying's uncle Yihong, who was two years old at the time. Three years later Hui-Ying's mother, Huang, was born. Huang found out she was a mutant at age 19, but kept this a secret. She had the ability to control people's minds. However, she rarely used this. At age 21 Huang gave birth to Hui-Ying as a result of a one-night stand. She never told the father and chose to raise Hui-Ying on her own. Huang's parents did not approve and broke contact with her, however Yihong supported her and helped raise Hui-Ying.
Growing up, Hui-Ying never felt like she was missing anything. Her mother gave her love for two and tried to give her as much as she could. Her mother worked different jobs, often multiple at the same time, trying to provide for the both of them. Yihong often took care of Hui-Ying when she was at work. It was difficult for her to make a living, until SHIELD offered her a job because of her ability. At this time when Hui-Ying was nine. Because her mother now was away from home a lot, Hui-Ying spent even more time with her uncle.
She and her uncle had a close bond and he taught her all about computers and hacking. Hui-Ying proved to be very good with numbers, and science subjects had always been her favourite. She quickly picked up the basics of hacking and it became her new hobby. She became very good at it and hacked many people for fun.
When Hui-Ying was fifteen her mother died on a mission, leaving her with her uncle. Hui-Ying had a hard time dealing with this, but her uncle's support helped a lot. Sadly her uncle had a drug problem, and he took an overdose when Hui-Ying was eighteen, leaving her on her own. This event was quite traumatic for her, and caused her mutant ability to be triggered. However it would take her another few months before she would realise what those powers actually were. For a few months she lived on the streets, and in squats when she could. In one squat she found a white rat, likely a lab-rat escapee, who she named Punk. Punk was her pet and went with her wherever she went. Unfortunately he died later. It was also during her time on the streets that she adopted the name Aspen, as to protect her identity. Eventually this stuck with her and it's how she now introduces herself.
Over time she discovered the full extend of her powers and learned to control them the best she could. She quickly came onto SHIELD's radar, not just because of her ability, but also because she was the daughter of a former SHIELD agent. But when SHIELD realised the amount of power Aspen could have, and the dangers of her ability in modern day society, they confronted her with an option: either work for them, or be considered a threat and be placed under constant watch. Aspen reluctantly agreed to work for them in tech support.
After a while she became very frustrated with the way she was treated. She felt like her powers were being weaponized, all while she had to watch as SHIELD did very little to protect the lives of mutants and inhumans. So she went behing SHIELD's back and started working on a suit for herself that would aid her abilities and protect her from harm, so she could start protecting those in need as a vigilante. She adopted the name Trojan, after a Trojan horse computer virus. SHIELD is semi-aware of this but realises they don't have the power to stop her from doing this.
Verse 2 (variant of the main verse): After her uncle died Aspen spent time on the streets. But when she found out about Xavier's school for the gifted youngsters, she went there for help and was enrolled there. She now lives there and is an x-men trainee.
Evil!Aspen
As a result of being treated like a threat and a weapon, Aspen turned her back on humanity. She sought comfort in the world of androids, A.I.'s and robots, using her ability to connect with them. From this sprouted a separate verse:
Verse 3 (variant of the main verse): After a failed attempt to take out Ultron, he took over her body temporarily and killed a few SHIELD agents. When Aspen woke up, she was locked up, but later rescued by Ultron, who took her with him. Upon realising that SHIELD and the Avengers were after her, she reluctantly joined Ultron, so she wouldn't get locked up or killed. Eventually she started to share his vision and lost all empathy for humanity, feeling like humankind (and mutantkind) had failed her, and androids would make the world a better place.

Cyberkinesis: She has the ability to create, shape and manipulate technology and technological constructs, computers, robots, hardware and other devices that can be termed as "technology". She can control the flow of intricate machinery and can allow them to assemble or disengage their programming at will. She can operate most technology just by touching or looking.
Electronic communication: She has the ability to intercept, generate, and interpret electronic, digital, and radio transmissions. She can perceive, understand, control and generate electronic, digital, and radio transmissions with/without accessing any standard source of communication, she can generate signals through one electronic device to another or be in essence a living wireless hub/computer. Through this she can access the wireless world with her mind and thus see through camera's and other devices.Data manipulation: She has the ability to manipulate data and digital information. She can manipulate the binary visible computer information known as data allowing her to collect information about most businesses and organisations and their operations and do amazing things to or inside computers such as hacking and manipulate computer programs.Cyberlingualism: She has the ability to communicate with technology. She can communicate either telepathically, by speaking verbally, or by touching it physically, with all forms of technology, including machinery, computers and other electronics. She can hack into cyber systems, restore information, break computer codes and create defects and viruses.Digital Transport: She can transport her mind into cyberspace, allowing her consciousness to travel from device to device and take control or manipulate data and programs.
Electricity manipulation: She is able to manipulate electricity from technical devices. She can also draw electricity from them and use it as a weapon or defence.
Weaknesses/Limitations:
She can’t control purely mechanical objects which possess no electronic or ferrous components.She requires close proximity to the object being manipulated, usually within her field of vision. Hacking and altering programs can be done from a distance, as long as there is a network connection.Her powers don't work if she is away from modern day society or in a place without technological devices, networks and radio signals.Her electronic communication can be done over distance, as long as the target device to connected to any kind of network or reachable via satellite. The further away the target it, the harder it is to reach them.When a lot of radio frequencies and networks come together, she can get overwhelmed and get headaches.She cannot manipulate the technological device if it's completely broken. Damaged and old tech can be manipulated but require a lot more effort, which may fail.She cannot create electricity on her own, it has to come from an electronic device.When she uses her digital transport ability, she's putting her life at risk. While travelling, her body will remain unconscious and thus open to danger. She's not able to see what goes on with her body. If her body is harmed and it dies, she can't return. If her body is moved she might not be able to return either. And because cyberspace is so big, she might get lost in there and never find her body back, or not return for days, thus leaving her body to die of dehydration or other circumstances. Furthermore, while in cyberspace, her mind is like a computer virus and can thus be deleted or altered.An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) can disable her abilities temporarily. Strong magnetic fields make it more difficult for her to use her abilities.If she wants to use her abilities to assemble a piece of technology, she has to know how it works first. She can use her abilities to look this up, but it takes time and still requires a certain level of skill.She can look up any kind of information she wants, but she still relies on human memory and knowledge, meaning she may not understand the information or forget the information later on.Constant use of her ability causes exhaustion as well as disassociation from the real world.Searching secure and large databases takes time and requires focus. If she can't focus, she might not be able to find what she's looking for.She can be locked out of devices by shutting the device down or disconnecting it from networks if she's not within range. She can turn it back on, but only if she's in close range. Meaning she can't turn on a computer she was hacking from two blocks away.
